About Psychiatrists? ?

I had that in mind as something to do later in my life, but when i asked about it, my family reacted negatively. My aunt, a doctor quote, "You can be any kind of doctor you want to be, why a psychiatrist, all the psychiatrists I know are kind of screwy?" Is there something wrong with this profession. I was just playing with the idea and people reacted negatively, why?
